I have recently graduated with a Bachelor of Design degree from the University of Alberta. My major was in visual communication design, illustration, and printmaking. You may view my resume here.
While at the UofA I couldn’t help but make use of the amazing Printmaking facilities available to students. However, studying at the university was not my first encounter with printmaking. I grew up watching my parents work on intaglio plates in their studio, which most often was our apartment, and so I dreamt of one day becoming an artist myself. The atmosphere of an artist’s studio became permanently etched into my mind. It was probably in my second year, that I became very interested in illustration. I was fascinated by drawing and have always loved it, but until then, somehow, didn’t think of it as a career path. By the time I was in my third year of uni I knew I wanted my career to be heavily involved with illustration as well as printmaking and graphic design.
The combination of observational drawing, typography, and printmaking led me to develop a certain artistic style, which you can see on this blog. I would love to continue drawing, designing and printmaking, and I’m always eager to take on new projects. I have recently moved to Vancouver, B.C., and am currently looking for work in my new home-city; if you’re interested in hiring me or know someone who would be, please feel free to email me, I love hearing feedback.
